🖊️ STATEMENT FROM SPORTING DIRECTOR DAVIDE CACACE “At certain moments, I believe it is necessary for the club to speak out in defence of the work carried out by our coaching staff and players. Over the past few weeks, several refereeing decisions have clearly gone against us, and I feel it is my duty to highlight this. Our manager has understandably only touched upon the subject in his post-match assessments, choosing instead to focus on analysing the team’s performances. This is our fourth season playing away from home. We continue to make sacrifices that are simply incomparable to those faced by any other club, and we do so with the dignity and professionalism that have always defined Sorrento. We are not asking for preferential treatment, but simply for the same level of attention and consideration that every club deserves. We cannot allow the enormous efforts we make to be undermined by careless decisions. Recently, we have experienced refereeing performances that have fallen below the required standard, creating a level of frustration and tension, both on and off the pitch, that is completely out of character for us. Furthermore, having the opportunity to use the Football Video Support (FVS) system to correct a clearly incorrect decision, only to persist with the original mistake, is something we simply cannot accept. That said, we are extremely pleased with the team’s progress so far. We have a young squad which, under the expert guidance of manager Vincenzo Maiuri, has already shown considerable potential. We are confident that the players will continue to develop and improve as the season progresses.” #WeAreSorrento
